How to reach Murud Janjira Fort : There are regular buses running from Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai to Murud.

If you like to travel according to your own schedule and time, taxi services are the best. You can also take outstation Ola and Uber. If you have a vehicle of your own, that is a very convenient and great option.

Murud Janjira From Pune

Murud does not have a Train Station, and the nearest station is Panvel, at a distance of 76 kms from Murud.

If you are traveling by a rental car or Tempo Traveler the shortest & safe route is via the Khopoli Ghat. If you feel courageous take the Mulshi Route (it is the shortest route) , however is not recommended due to very bad road condition. Mind you its a very lonely route unless u in a group its not recommended - about 40 Kms of very bad roads! But the view is very good. Your Choice.

Pune to Murud By Road:

Route First (Recommended) : Pune - via Pune Mumbai Expressway - Khopoli - Pen - Alibaug - Kashid -  via Revdanda Murud road - Murud Janjira.

Note - This route is the best if you also want to visit Alibaug & Kashid Beach. Road condition is very good. Little longer route by distance but all worth. Traveling time will be least among all options. Recommended also in evening/night.

Total Distance - 175 KM.

Hope this will help future traveler.

We booked a Tempo Traveler & started journey from Dange Chok, Pune. We took Route First option as i recommended. It takes about 3:30 hours from Pune to reach Alibaug.

Kashid Beach is one of the most popular & beautiful beaches of Maharashtra (India). The green palm trees add a lot to the beauty and freshness of the beach. Kashid Beach and Nandgaon Beach are too near from Murud.

Ramdara Temple near Loni Kalbhor Village, Pune

Ramdara Temple, Pune

How to go Ramdara Temple (Loni kalbhor Village) from Pune : Temple is around 20km from Magarpatta City. We started from Dange Chok, after reaching magarpatta go on the Solapur Highway towards solapur, cross Hadapsar and proceed towards Manjiri.

Once you cross the Toll Gate just after you will see a bridge. After crossing that bridge you should see two boards (on the left of the road) pointing to the right, one having "Loni Kalbhor" and the other "Ramdara Mandir"

Take this turn, proceed into the village for around half a km, take the first right in the chowk and this road goes directly to the Ramdara Temple (and nowhere else!).

Kasarsai Dam - A must visit place nearer to Hinjewadi (Pune).

While searching on google best places to visit ner Pune, I have come across this wonderful place which i was not aware - Kasarsai Dam, it is a part of Kusgaon Lake.

If you serach on google , it says 15km from Wakad to reach. So what to wait for, I dialled to my friends and pack my bag with my co-traveler Canon 700D.

We started on bike around 3:45 pm from wakad and reached the destination around 4:15 pm, though road condition was somewhat good.

Distance from Wakad 15km

Attraction Dam/Sunset Point/Picnic Spot

It was Winter time to visit the dam and off-course New Year plan. As we took left turn towards non concrete road we could see Kasarsai dam was filled with water.

Kasarsai Dam
Kasarsai Dam View

Sun rays were reflecting from dam water and it was eye pleasing. Very calm place, no crowd at all. Few travelers with their families were there.

We just move ahead of the road and reached a big irony bridge built on dam. We parked our bikes and started walking on the bridge. It was shaky a little.

Kasarsai Dam Bridge

We just stand around the corner of the bridge, and took a glance, The water was everywhere, with sun is about to set, orange sky, passing wind. It was just awesome view.

We clicks few pictures. Then we climbed a ladder on that bridge, Just be careful by climbing because we found the bridge was shaking a bit but take precautions and its safe enough.

As we climbed and yes we found a place ,there is a small passage to sit upside. Whole dam view is visible from here. Only three to four people can occupy that passage.
Have a sit there facing towards the water of the dam, with Sunset View, no other sounds, its gives inner peace and happiness to be there.

Afterword we come out of the bridge and sit on cement wall around the dam, Its completely safe to sit, as water level was not high. We sit until the sun get completely set
and starts dark. It was magnificent view from there to sun getting set beging the hills. We have got very good captured here.

Just leave the place before its too dark as small insects starts bothering to you.
There is a restro at the end of the lake with lot more space and have beautiful view of lake. We headed there to see the place, there is the spot ahead the restro
where we could see crowd of people was there to celebrate the New Year Eve.

There was boating and water bikes provided. People were happily enjoying the water sports, clicking pictures, selfies, There were two benches provided to sit beside the lake,
it was so good to sit and talk with your bestie or beloved.

As we entered the spot there is very small hut kinda thing for ducks. There were two white ducks. I just peep inside that hut and saw white duck eggs.

Now by the time its very dark outside, and we are ready to leave the place with very good memories and good captures.
