Andhar stands for Darkness and Ban means dense jungle, so the word ANDHARBAN literally means The Dense Dark Forest.

And yes the journey we started and completed for Andharban trek, i was chasing for this trek from last 3 weeks was going though the pics and videos of it on google, it was all fascinated me after seeing the dense forest in a pic. I and one of my friend confirmed the booking with a trek group. And we two was full ready to gain the experience of the trek with group of unknown people.
Our journey started from Pune via bus after an hour and 30 minutes we enter Tamini ghat. The scenery around was just awesome it was all foggy as i have seen in pics, small roadside waterfall always fascinates me.

I was very excited to enter now in andharban. In next 30 minutes we get down from the bus at Pimpri Village. As i get down, there was a farm filled full on water, hills peeping out from clouds in that i can count how many waterfalls are flowing. We entered in hut nearby, the refreshment Poha & Tea were already ready in there. Its a small hut where we almost 25-30 people got adjusted and started having Breakfast.Others started taking selfies and pics so am i :) :)

After a small introduction of the group we headed towards Andhardan through this Pimpri dam, it was overflow and the sound of the water was just melody.

pimpri dam

After a walk through lush green fields and small  waterfalls and rock patches we entered to a big big waterfall , Wow i just jumped in every waterfall clicked few pics and started walking with group.

As we were walking enjoying singing and seeing the beauty of the jungle slowly i can see its getting denser as we entering insider of it. The name it self define Andharban , as we went in monsoon off course full of rain and no sunlight. Full denser view some what like seen in horror movie but yet wonderful walking though the roots of trees which are came out of soil, Look everywhere you can see green trees, bushes hiding in fog and yes its worth.

Its all descending trek, and makes you think now what comes next. Though it was descending and because of rain the rock patches became very sleepary, even i got sleep many of the time it was fun :)  After 8 kilometer walks we took halt in small school for a lunch. The arrangement done by the group was very good. Now with full of lunch and a halt of 30 min again we got ready toward renaming 5 km journey.

Ghats / Valley / Jungle

After a long walk and descending we could see the top view of bhira dam , it was our destination
Sudden we heard the sound of flowing waterfall, as we stepping ahead the sound became louder, when we reached i could not resist myselft jumping into it, already other trek groups having fun into it, the water was so cold but full worth it took all my exertion away.

After 20 min we start descending , we were slowly reaching to the bhira dam wall , as it was closing time of dam we walked a bit fast. The scene was awesome, dam was almost full of water and we were walking on the wall upon that it was raining  in full and the other side of it dam water was suspended from it, it was cool.

Bhira Dam (End Point)
Now time take halt again :)  ooooho! the trek is done full of pics memories now almost exhausted we had vada pav and hot tea there. And started our return journey to Pune.

Trip to Baneshwar Water Fall & Mahadev Temple - Pune (07-08-2016)

BANESHWAR -

My another destination in monsoon waiting for me and its Baneshwar waterfall :)

Its a very nice place to visit Near Pune. Only 42 km, an hours drive from Pune, via pune solapur highway near Narsapur before Prati Balaji Temple

How to Go : I Started from Dange Chok -> Bawdhan -> Chandni chok -> Pune-Banglore Highway -> Katraj tunnel -> Reach Toll gate --> After Toll almost 9-10 km you will find a small junction, on right side you can notice traffic going down to Nasarpur, you may also notice some jeep waiting for passengers to take inside. Just catch that road, You need to cross narrow market place. As soon as you cross the market you will notice Right side displaying Baneshwar Temple. Just get inside the Hill Road and you will reach Down Temple parking.

Baneshwar is famous for the Mahadev temple it is very ancient and peaceful and for Waterfall. Good time to go just after rainy season when the entire area is green and the waterfall is at it's peak.

Baneshwar Temple Of Lord Shiva
To reach the water fall you have to cross the big garden which is full of green trees.
After walk between these lovely trees, i heard the sound of waterfall and it was massive. I was very excited to see the waterfall and slowly approchined towards it seeing the greenary around.

The first look i saw of water fall is like pic in below, as the sound i heard the waterfall was full of its peak, it was flowing heavily with full of speed , you could not take your eyes off from this white water. As your eyes turns in the direction of waterfall it seems like its ending into the earth through these rocky patches.
